What styles of martial arts do you offer for adults?

Do you have classes for kids?
Yes,
we have several options for kids:
- Lil’ Dragons (ages 4-7)
- Karate Kids (ages 5-12)
- Youth Jujitsu (ages 5-12)
- Family Karate (ages 5-12)
- Kubudo Weapons (ages 6+) (must be enrolled in a primary
martial arts class to join)
Generally speaking, ages 13 and older attend our adult classes

Is a uniform required?
Yes,
a class appropriate uniform is provided free with initial membership.
(Jujistu students receive a judo “gi” (uniform), karate students receive
a karate gi, etc. (Exception: Batto-do and Hiraido which require specialized
uniforms and equipment)

Do you require contracts?
No,
we do not have mandatory contracts. Membership is month-to-month
whether you pay monthly or use the automatic payment plan.

Where are you located?
We
are located at 250 N. Pantano Road, which is near the NE corner of
Broadway and Pantano.

How long has your school been
in Tucson?
We have trained generations of martial artists
in Tucson for over 45 years. For the first 44 years, membership
grew mostly through word of mouth. Recently however, we have
begun advertising in newspapers and television., and of course,
our new web site!

When can I start? Do you have
sessions?
You can join at any time. Membership is pro-rated
if you join at a time other than the beginning of the month. No,
we do not have sessions-all of our classes run continuously.

Do you have to have
any prior martial arts experience to join?
Absolutely not!
We have beginner students joining all the time. Our classes are
open to students of all experience levels.

Am I going to get hurt learning
martial arts?
Surprisingly, with several hundred students,
we have very few injuries. Of course it is possible to become
injured, however, student and instructor safety is our primary
concern and respect for one’s self and partner is a strongly emphasized
in class.

What class would you recommend
for a beginner?
All of our classes are appropriate for
beginners. Factors that might influence your decision could include:
personal preference, schedule and even the amount of physical contact
you prefer. We highly recommend observing any classes that you
may be interested in. Doing so will give you a feel for the instructor
as well as the techniques and skills that may be necessary for
success in that particular art.

When are payments
due?
Payments are due at the 1st of each month. For example,
the payment for classes Jan. 1st-31st is due January 1st.The exception
is the automatic payment plan (EFT). EFT payments are automatically
taken out on the 17th of each month. A $10 late fee may be assessed
after a payment is 10 days overdue.
